Payam Banazadeh, a businessperson, tech innovator and founder and CEO of Capella Space, has been in the frontline of transforming the world astronomically. Payam joined the University of Texas, Austin, where he graduated with Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering. Later on, Payam Banazadeh enrolled for graduate studies at Stanford University, where he received a Master’s degree in business and management.
Before the formation of Capella Space, Payam worked for NASA as an intern at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. During his time in NASA, Payam held different positions and proved his indisputable abilities for responsible leadership. He later became a Lead Project System Engineer in NASA, where he formulated new concepts and missions.
At Stanford, entrepreneur Payam Banazadeh started building up the idea of Capella Space. The idea was born following the news about the disappearance of Flight 370 of Malaysia Airlines. The airplane was transiting to China from Kuala Lumpur. The fact that available satellites made no discoveries about the whereabouts of Flight 370 troubled Payam. This incident motivated Payam Banazadeh to develop a system that helps monitor the earth’s surface without experiencing time and weather limitations.
Many people believed that there were constellation satellites in a position that could closely watch and monitor the earth’s surface. Nonetheless, the disappearance of Flight 370 proved the need for the development of such a system. Capella Space was, therefore, established to help realize the ideology for a constellation of satellites that closely monitors the planet. Payam believes the SAR tech will do a better job than the optical satellites. SAR doesn’t require the sun’s light to function, but they have the power to emit their energy. Therefore, the system will function day and night.
Payam Banazadeh holds technological innovations at heart. By reimagining existing technologies, Payam has created a system that transmits timely and instant data about planet earth.
